Saved us over $6,000! We were on a yearly maintenance plan with another HVAC and when AC started blowing warm, they suggested replacing the whole unit. We contacted Coastal for a 2nd opinion on rec from a friend. The tech noticed our coil was still under warranty and the unit otherwise looked good. They performed the work and then wanted to charge me for a time and material visit since they didn't seem know know how large a residential AC unit is. $250 later for a maintenance check they said I could sign up for their plan the next time they came out. I had them come out to check the 14yo AC in my new home, since it barely passed the pre-purchase inspection, and he was extremely thorough, pointing out every issue and comically wrong parts the previous service people had put in. He mentioned that “bandaids” could keep the unit running longer, but I decided to just have it replaced instead. To be thorough, I got a second opinion, and that company did not check anything at all- they just looked at the brand & model and told me it needed to be replaced immediately. I had them send me a quote, and Coastal Comfort’s was a lot cheaper, for the same exact unit. They were on-time for the installation, took the time to explain all of the issues with my old unit to me, and because lazy/clueless people had worked on it before, there were some extreme hazards which luckily didn’t injure either of them! They decided to add and replace parts which was necessary but not anticipated, and didn’t charge me extra for that, even though they had to leave to purchase them. My home is now colder, electric bill is lower, and I’m not broke! I highly recommend this company.
